Join Virginia Tech and the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources to learn about the development and implementation of Virginia's landmark Wildlife Viewing Plan. Adopted in 2021, the Wildlife Viewing Plan is Virginia's first comprehensive, strategic plan to guide the DWR's efforts to engage with and support wildlife viewing. This resource is the culmination of a 3.5-year collaborative effort between the Virginia DWR and Virginia Tech’s Department of Fish and Wildlife Conservation. Three areas of this plan will be covered: why Virginia decided to develop it, how it was created, and the initial steps begun towards its implementation.
